Why You’ll Love Poha

Poha is a delicious dish made with flattened rice, which is filled with veggies and spices. Poha is a healthy start for your day which will be ready in just 15-20 minutes.

Ingredients:

To make this dish you need the following items adjust them according to your quantities I will mention the regular quantities you can feel free to make as many changes as you want because cooking is experimenting😉.
  • Flattened Rice (Poha) 2 cups
  • Cooking Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Hing 
  • Curry leaves the more the better
  • Green chilies as per your spice level
  • Onion (chopped)
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Roasted Peanuts for that Protein 💪
  • Green Peas
  • A potato
  • Lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves



Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Poha

  1. Rinse Poha: Take that Flattened rice (Poha) in a large bowl and wash them under running water and then drain the water and set aside. 

Step 2: Cook the Poha

  1. Heat Oil: Now take a pan and heat some oil over low or medium flame. 
  2. Temper Spices: Let make some explotions in the pan are you ready ?
    Just add some mustard seeds and let them splutter now add all the ingredients mentioned below cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, and green chilies. Let them cook for few seconds until fragrant.
  3. Sauté Onions: Now it's time to take revenge for your tears not from your heartbreak but from cutting the onion now add them and cook then until they turn translucent.
  4. Add Vegetables: Now add that potato and cook until its tender like your heart and then add that green peas and continue cooking for a couple of minutes. 
  5. Spice It Up: Now let's spice up your life by adding some turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix Mix Mix.
  6. Add Poha: Gently fold in the rinsed poha like a baby, ensure that it is coated with all the spices. 
  7. Add Sugar and Peanuts: Ahh it's protein time add some roasted peanuts over the poha. Mix gently.
  8. Cook: Cover and cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes to allow the flavors to mix with it.

Step 3: Garnish and Serve

  1. Add Lemon Juice:Now squeeze a lemon over the Poha and Mix Mix Mix. 
  2. Garnish: Let's decorate it with coriander leaves.
