Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Fish

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix the lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, and salt.
  2. Marinate the Fish: Add the fish pieces to the marinade, making sure they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or for best results, refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

Step 2: Prepare the Coating

  1. Mix the Coating Ingredients: In a shallow plate, combine the rice flour, all-purpose flour, black pepper powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

Step 3: Coat the Fish

  1. Coat the Fish: Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Take each marinated fish piece, coat it evenly with the flour mixture, and shake off any excess.

Step 4: Fry the Fish

  1. Fry the Fish: Once the oil is hot, gently slide the fish pieces into the pan. Fry them in batches, without overcrowding, for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Drain Excess Oil: Remove the fried fish and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 5: Serve

  1. Garnish and Serve: Serve the Fish Fry hot with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro leaves. It pairs wonderfully with a side of salad, rice, or even as a standalone snack.
